Partners in Injury Research & Prevention
We work closely with colleagues throughout Jefferson and a coalition of partner organizations and institutions. Beginning in 2026, our research projects are being coordinated in partnership with the Socially Responsible Surgery chapter at Sidney Kimmel Medical College.
Socially Responsible Surgery
Socially Responsible Surgery (SRS) is a national organization that seeks to elevate social responsibility as a core value of surgical practice, including educating and serving our local community through leadership, research, service, and collaboration in the training of surgeons committed to equity.
The Jefferson chapter of SRS helps medical students and residents get involved in surgery through a public health lens, transforming research into actionable advocacy and education opportunities in Philadelphia and beyond.
Medical students or residents interested in non-surgical specialties should consider joining a JCIRP/SRS research project. Many projects transcend specialty to focus on bolstering public health and injury prevention in our community.
