The Jefferson Center for Injury Research and Prevention (JCIRP) is modelled after the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the lead agency for our country in addressing the societal burden of injury. The Center was formed with the intent of establishing a national center of expertise in the field of Injury Prevention and Control.

The Drs. Theresa & Charles Yeo Writing Prize
This annual writing contest of the Eakins Writers’ Workshop, is an invitation for all members of the Jefferson community to engage in the empowering act of writing. This year's topic was the LGBTQ+ Experience.

Research Projects
Our projects and collaborations explore the causes of unintentional and intentional injury in society. Topics include:

Evanescent Journal
Evanescent is a literary journal published by JCIRP and dedicated to stories of injury and all its victims.
We seek submissions of high-quality writing on themes related to injury, including short nonfiction, fiction, and poetry. All submissions will be reviewed by an editorial committee of Jefferson faculty members and students.
All members of the Jefferson community are welcomed to submit.
