Overnight Imaging

For experiments starting after 1 pm and continuing overnight, the rates above apply for the first four (4) hours and then lower to $5/hr.

Prior to your first appointment, please contact the BioImaging team to discuss your sample and imaging goals.  An initial imaging session will typically be focused on optimizing the system for your sample and establishing the best experimental workflow for you.  Subsequent sessions will be aimed at training users on this workflow until adequate proficiency is demonstrated and they can schedule the system for independent use.

The BioImaging Shared Resource requires all users to operate the instruments with professionalism and respect.  This means understanding what each system requires to leave it in a clean and ready state for future users.  This care is part of our hands on training and is absolutely necessary to keep our high-end research instruments operational and performing at their designed functionality.

Any user who alters the default state of an instrument for their experiment is required to return the system to that state when done imaging.  This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Installation of live-cell incubation chambers
  • Installation of custom objectives
  • Alteration of device speed or accuracy
  • Installation of custom filter cubes
  • Installation of custom stage adapters

Additionally, all users fo the BioImaging Shared Resource are responsible for long term storage and archiving of any image data they generate.  This follows along with both NIH research guidelines and Thomas Jefferson University internal policies.  The BioImaging Shared Resource does not have the capacity or the responsibility to archive the volume of data generated at our facility.
