Opportunities

Post-Doctoral Fellowships

A Two-Year Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Clinical Neuroimaging focuses on both clinical brain mapping and primary cognitive neuroscience. The emphasis in our neuroimaging program is on cognitive and behavioral effects of seizures on brain networks, with particular interest in delineating the reorganization and plasticity effects that emerge following brain interventions. Other neurologic conditions, however, are also studied (tumor). Presurgical brain mapping studies are undertaken (MRI volumetrics, task-fMRI, resting state, diffusion imaging, electrocortical stimulation, neuropsychological assessment) as well as post-surgical neuroimaging studies investigating clinical, cognitive, and behavioral outcomes. The pre-surgical brain mapping studies are conducted on a regular basis, utilized in image-guided brain surgery, and then made available for research. Studies in brain recovery and the cognitive reorganization of language and memory functions are emphasized, along with projects in electrophysiology and brain stimulation, yielding rich multi-modal datasets for the investigation of both cognitive and seizure networks.

Research Assistantships

Research positions are available to graduate and medical students, as well as undergraduates, who are motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented. Positions are amenable to specific interests of students and volunteers. Responsibilities may include administering and scoring tests and questionnaires; preparing structural and functional neuroimaging experiments; image processing; conducting statistical analysis using software such as MATLAB, R, SPM, FSL, and fMRIPrep; programming in various languages including Bash, DOS, MATLAB, Python, and R; data management with REDCap or similar; performing medical record reviews and literature searches; and/or, helping to prepare presentations and manuscripts. Priority is given to those who are able to commit at least one year on a part-time basis.

Interested individuals should contact Dr. Tracy with their resume or CV.
